from venice to rome

After a great couple of days in Venice, Lauren and I have arrived in Rome. Venice was great. We stayed at a campground outside the city, in a cozy little trailer. We took the ferry into the city on Tuesday evening, and enjoyed some amazing lasagna and wine on a patio in the warm sun. We spent all day yesterday walking the streets, enjoying the world’s best latte and eating the amazing pizza. We went to the famous St. Mark’s square, and also looked at a couple amazing churches. So great. Today we took a train down to Rome. After checking into our hostel, we ate some more pasta and walked to the Colosseum, the sight of which was the fulfillment of a personal dream of mine.

In short, so far, so good.

Big shout out to the bus driver in Bergamo who noticed that we got off too early, stopped the bus, motioned for us toget back on and directed us closer to the train station. One in a million that guy.

Tomorrow, it’s off to the Vatican and probably some more pasta.

Ciao for now!

Venice sounds amazing. Glad to hear you got to see the Colosseum, and that bus driver is wild!
